From jGnash
The jGnash 2.x series will be a partial rewrite that uses a database for persisting data. A database will be embedded within the application to ensure jGnash remains simple to operate for novice users. Options will exist for advanced users to persist data to an external database.
As of jGnash 2.0.0 Alpha 2, db4o is being used as the embedded database. Future releases will incorporate RDBMS support through use of Hibernate.
