Road Map

From jGnash

jGnash releases are made in small, stable increments to minimize risk of introducing new bugs.

Below is a tentative plan for future releases.

• 1.10.x series
  • Changes to XML file to improve load and save speed
  • Improve reconciliation support
  • Add an option to change the defaults for the transaction number combo
  • This will be the last version of jGnash to support Java 1.4

• 2.0.x series
  • jGnash will be compiled for Java 5.0 and begin utilizing the new language features
  • jGnash will use an embedded RDBMS for storage to improve application performance
  • Provide a default account structure for new users
  • Start adding basics for VAT support
  • Basic OFX and MT940 Support

• 2.1.x series
  • Focus on Investment Accounts and reporting
    • Portfolio and performance reports
    • Improved updating of online stock information
    • Add new sources for online stock information

• 2.2.x series
  • Add OFX support

• 2.3.x series
  • Focus will be improving functionality of Reminders
    • A Calendar display for Reminders

• 2.4.x series
  • Extend filtering capabilities in register
    • Filter by date
